Lola, a six-clawed lobster, was captured off the coast in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
The 4-pound lobster was later donated to the Maine State Aquarium in West Boothbay Harbor.
Rachel Leah Captain Peter Brown and lobsterman Richard Figueiredo caught the strange looking lobster. The six-clawed lobster is an addition to their growing collection of "weird lobsters."
She has a normal claw on her right side and five claws on the other side.
Marine Scientist David Libby explained that "Sometimes the genes will just get a little mixed and it will grow a funny claw. But I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Two rare lobsters were caught in just one week! How lucky was that a two-toned and blue lobster species were out in the open seas during the last week of August?

The extraordinary lobsters were believed to be just one in two million for the blue and one in 50 million for the two-toned specie.
According to Gulf of Maine Research Institute's Alan Lishness, the rare colored lobsters "looked as if someone had taken painter’s tape and run it from proboscis to tail, then spray-painted one side. It’s a perfectly straight line. You don’t usually see such hard edges in nature.”
American lobsters are usually colored brownish-green.
Experts say that the unusual color of the newly caught lobsters can be attributed to genetic defect that cause too much production of a particular protein.
The two-toned lobster was reportedly sent to local fisherman's wharf, Ship to Shore Lobster Co. It was later donated to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
Below is a capecast YouTube video of the blue lobster.

Two-headed Pig: Weird looking pig born in China goes viral
Two-headed animals are dominating the headlines of several news and blog sites recently.
After the Journal of Fish Biology published a two-headed shark last March, now comes another weird topic that went viral over several social networking sites. A two-headed pig was reportedly born in the Jiujiang village located in China's eastern province of Jiangxi.
The two-headed animal was reportedly suffering from a deformity called axial bifurcation, an incomplete splitting of an embryo into two separate organisms, or twins.
Michigan State University researcher, Michael Wagner, said that "Halfway through the process of forming twins, the embryo stops dividing."
Reports say that the two-headed pig has two snouts, two ears and a shared eye.
This is the second time that a two-headed pig was born in China. A piglet with two heads and three eyes was reportedly born in the village of Zhaodun located in the province of Jiangsu.
Researchers say that axial bifurcation occurs in both human and animal. Other animals that made the news recently include shark, goat, snake and more.
