The new line of Microsoft tablets is expected to directly compete with Apple iPad and Google Android tablets.
According to its official website, Microsoft described Surface Pro as "A laptop in tablet form, Surface Pro brings together the best of Microsoft in one awesome new device."
The Intel® CoreTM i5 processor runs virtually all your favorite programs, including Office1, with blazing fast speed.
A Digitimes report explained the Redmond company's strategy,
Microsoft’s current plight is due to its late entry to the mobile market, high product prices, and weak ecosystem compared to its competitors. Microsoft’s strategy of developing its tablet operating system using its PC operating system as the base, is the main problem preventing Windows-based tablets becoming standardized.
Pre-orders for the new line of Surface tablets are now available. Surface Pro prices starts at $799. Reports say that first generation Surface RT will still be available at a drop-down price of $350.
Surface tablets top selling point is the availability of Office applications.

Globe LTE: The Untold Truth You Should Know About This Technology

Credit: www.globe.com.ph
I say that Globe's claims is a marketing lie. It may be true to others, but not all and there is more to it behind the scene.
Getting the cue from Globe's FAQs, I answered them based on my own personal experience. Check them out below and provide your own experiences using the comments section below the article.
1. Why is Globe launching LTE just now?
Since I haven't experience LTE yet on my iPhone 5, they may have launched LTE for their marketing strategy.
2. Is your LTE rollout part of your network modernization program?
Maybe. However, their modernization program seems to be creating more problems to their consumers like me, rather than providing a good user experience.
3. What kind of LTE network will Globe roll out?
To experience is to believe that they are really rolling out.
4. When is Globe rolling these out? They claimed that they have rolled out LTE, but until now (mid-2013) I haven't experience receiving their LTE signal.
5. What areas will benefit from the LTE rollout? They have listed several areas but when I went there, I am not getting the LTE signal. Even the 3G signal is not consistent.
6. Why is the initial rollout focused in Makati? What about the other cities and provinces?
The latest info from Globe is that they already went beyond Makati. But how will I believe them if I haven't received any LTE signal even in the heart of Makati's Business District?
7. When will devices be available?
My Apple iPhone 5 locked with Globe was acquired last December 2012. Until now (June 4, 2013), no LTE signal.
I used several help channels of Globe to raise the issue on the LTE signal of my handset. On Twitter, @talk2globe said that my SIM needs to be activated-even if it is clearly printed that it is 4G LTE ready. Twitter users can follow @talk2globe to see for yourself the problems encountered by Globe users.
I just do hope that the activation of my SIM will not be overtaken by a new technology. (perhaps a 5G)

FTC Investigates Samsung False Advertising vs HTC
Samsung has been a target of several lawsuits during the past years. A false advertising campaign may again scratch off some of Samsung's reputation. The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) is reportedly investigating an alleged Samsung false advertising. If found guilty, Samsung will be asked to pay a fine of $835,000.
According to allegations in Taiwan, Samsung hired students to post on the web damaging articles against HTC. These are articles also promotes the use Samsung over other mobile phones in the market.
In a statement, Samsung admitted that their employees committed the mistake because of "insufficient understanding" of the company's marketing principles.
Below is a press release by Samsung over the false advertising issue.
Samsung Electronics remains committed to engaging in transparent and honest communications with consumers as outlined in the company’s Online Communications Credo. We have encouraged all Samsung Electronics employees worldwide to remain faithful to our Credo. The recent incident was unfortunate, and occurred due to insufficient understanding of these fundamental principles.
Samsung Electronics Taiwan (SET) has ceased all marketing activities that involve the posting of anonymous comments, and will ensure that all SET online marketing activities will be fully compliant with the company’s Online Communications Credo.
We regret any inconvenience this incident may have caused. We will continue to reinforce education and training for our employees to prevent any future recurrence.

Invention of 9-year-old Kenyan Boy wonder, Richard Turere (Video)

However, Kenyan boy wonder, Richard Turere is one exemption. At his young age, he invented an automated system of moving lights as a shield against wild animals. Turere used electricity from solar panel and battery circuit to light up his invention.
It was used successfully to keep away lions from eating their family's livestock located just outside the Nairobi National Park.
According to Turere, he "grew up hating lions very much" but never thought of killing them. Instead, the Kenyan boy wonder created a device that can be used against the lion's weakness. The "King of the Jungle" is reportedly afraid of moving lights.
Turere, now a 13-year-old, was given a scholarship by the Brookhouse School, a top Kenyan school. The young inventor plans to take up engineering. His invention became known worldwide after he was invited as one of the speakers during the TED 2013 last February 26.
In the video below, Richard Turere explains his invention during TED 2013.

Facebook App on iPhone 5 crashes unexpectedly
Facebook app is one of my favorite and most used application on my Apple iPhone 5. Since getting this phone from Globe Telecoms last December 2012, I never missed checking out the social networking app developed by Facebook.
I love checking out the Facebook status of my friends and posting my own on a daily basis using this app.
However, I was getting frustrated lately due to the unexpected crash of the Facebook app. The problem with this Facebook app instability is that you'll never know when it will automatically close.
In one instance, while checking out some of the photos of my friends, the Facebook app closes.
Just before I write this article, I suffered another Facebook app crash while I was browsing using my iPad 2.
That last event prompted me to write this experience and hopefully Facebook app developers can take a look and fix the issue.
I don't know if the Facebook app has an issue with the Apple iOS 6.1.2. This is because, if I recalled it right, this crashes of the Facebook app only started when I ugraded to the latest version of the iOS.
So, will I just have to wait for the next iOS update that is 6.1.3? Or will there be a new Facebook app update in the works?
Let's wait and see!
Have you experience the same or any other related problem with the Facebook app? You may want to share by providing them in the comments section below this article.
