The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said today, July 8, 2013 that they are currently monitoring a new low pressure area.
PAGASA told DZMM anchor Noli de Castro that the tropical storm is still over 500 km from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
When the new weather disturbance enters PAR, it will be named Typhoon Huaning. PAGASA expects the Tropical Storm Huaning to affect the country by Tuesday or Wednesday.
More updates on Bagyong Huaning will be posted on this website once they are made available by PAGASA.
The latest weather forecast from PAGASA as of 5 a.m. today indicates that an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is affecting the areas of Palawan and Mindanao.
Other areas that will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms includes Ilocos Region, MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy accompanied with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
