Napoles Surrenders to PNoy in Malacañang

Napoles Surrenders
Credit: PNP
MANILA, Philippines - Janet Lim Napoles surrenders to Philippines President Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III on Wednesday night, August 28, 2013. Napoles was forced to surrender after PNoy announced publicly that a P10 million bounty for her arrest was already in effect.

Napoles was being hunted down by the NBI due to a warrant of arrest due to a serious illegal detention case filed against her by Benhur Luy. She was also under investigation due to allegations that she masterminded a P10 billion pork barrel scam.

Malacañang officials explained that Napoles "voluntarily surrendered." In defense of her surrender to PNoy, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said that, "It is not the first time that fugitives surrendered to the President." Lacierda further explained that Napoles surrendered to the President "because her family has issues with the National Bureau of Investigation."

According to Lacierda, the delivery of Napoles to Malacañang "is part of the voluntary surrender that they requested. We wanted to make sure that she is safe rather than if you don't do anything, if you don't take up this lead, what will you say. Hindi na natin nahuli. So we are doing our best to bring us closer to the truth."

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Nonnatus Rojas told reporters that they may have been left out of the Napoles surrender because it may have been part of conditions from the Napoles camp for her voluntary surrender.

Napoles is currently detained at Camp Crame and is set to be transferred to Makati City Jail on Thursday afternoon.

    Oarfish or Loch Ness Monster?

Authorities are now at a loss over a 13-foot creature that was found lifeless along the Luis Siret Beach shoreline in Villaricos, Spain on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.

According to Maria Sanches of the Cuevas Civil Protection, the carcass of the mysterious creature was discovered by a lady.

Sanches explained that "A lady found one part and we helped her retrieve the rest. We have no idea what it was. It really stank."

Widespread speculations linked the creature to the Loch Ness Monster, sea dragon or water dinosaur.

Some netizens on social networking sites said that the mysterious creature may be a mutated fish, shark species or an oarfish.

Paco Toledo, spokesman of the Programa en Defensa de la Fauna Marina-Sea Life Defense Program (PROMAR) said that,
It’s hard to know what we’re dealing with. It’s very decomposed and we cannot identify what it is.

Perhaps we could learn something more from the bones, but to be precise, it would be necessary to perform a genetic analysis, which is very expensive and who would pay for it?

Anyway, we have submitted the information to colleagues with more experience and knowledge to see if they can tell us something more specific.

It’s not a longhorn cowfish, that’s for sure.

How about you? Is this the Loch Ness monster or just an oarfish? Post your opinion below.

MANILA - Anne Curtis may end up on close scrutiny again by the Movie Television Ratings and Classification Board (MTRCB) for her latest sexy Primadonna pictures released last Friday, August 16, 2013. The controversial performer was wearing a high-slit dress while promoting a shoe.

The 28-year-old actress poses on the ad campaign with her legs on full display.

The latest Curtis ad campaign picture is similar to her equally controversial February "Diamonds" performance.
