A 741-pound alligator has reset the record for the heaviest gator ever caught in the state of Mississippi on Sunday, September 8, 2013.

Dalco Turner of Gluckstadt, Mississippi was able to hunt down the 13-foot, 6.5-inch alligator. The gator reportedly weighs about 741.5 pounds.

It was the third time in a week that the alligator hunting record was broken.

Last Sept. 1, Beth Trammell broke the state's old record of 697.5 pounds when she caught a 723.5-pound gator.

However, after an hour, Dustin Bockman snared a 13-foot, 4.5-inch gator that weighs 727-pounds.

Turner's lengthy catch also tied the mark for the state record for length set in 2008.

727-pound alligator: Dustin Bockman Caught alligator in Mississippi River (Video)

A 727-pound alligator was caught by a hunter in the Mississippi River near the Big Black River in Claiborne County, on Sunday, September 1, 2013.

The record-breaking alligator was snatched by Dustin Bockman, a UPS driver from Vicksburg. His alligator catch was one of several records established during the first weekend of the Alligator Hunting season in Mississippi.

Earlier in the day, Beth Trammell set the first record with a 13-foot-5.5-inch, 723.5-pound alligator catch. Her record did not last long as Bockman snare a 13-foot-4.5-inch, 727-pound alligator.

According to Bockman, the alligator "broke all the lines we could put in him. Finally [we] put a snare on him and got him up high enough and put a shot on him. All in all probably took us four and a half hours to catch him from the first time we saw him."

Below is a video of the 727-pound alligator.
