World's shortest woman visits Empire State Building

The world's shortest living woman made a public appearance in one of the tallest structure in the US on Thursday, September 12, 2013.

Jyoti Amge visited New York City's Empire State building to promote the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records.

Standing at 2 feet and 0.6 inches in height and weighing 12 pounds, Amge went inside the building that is about 600 times taller than her.

The 19-year-old Amge, native of Nagpur, India, appeared insidethe 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building.

Amge's small size is caused by her medical condition called achondroplasia, that usually cause dwarfism. She also has brittle bones that may need to be taken cared of during her entire life.\

Pauline Musters from Ossendrecht, Netherlands still holds the Guinness world record as the smallest woman in the world to have ever lived. She was born in February 26, 1876 and Guinness listed her height at 1 foot and 11.2 inches.
