Before the start of the 2013 London Marathon, runners spent a moment of silence as a tribute to all the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Thousands of runners gathered at the Greenwich Park on Sunday, April 21. The London Marathon will be the first major event after the Boston explosion in less than a week.

It was an overwhelming show of determination for the people of London. Amateur and Professional runners were in attendance. Organizers provided additional security due to the unexpected turnout.
