19-Foot Python Killed: Longest Python in Miami, Florida Trends


A 19-foot python was killed by a resident of Miami-Dade County, Florida last May 11, 2013. The Burmese Python made the headlines due to its enormous size. 

The 19-foot python, killed by Jason Leon, was reportedly the longest snake ever killed in the Florida state. Leon was driving when he saw the python hiding in the bush. Leon killed the python with a knife.


Yahoo News reported that the python measures about 18 feet, 8 inches long and weighs about 128 pounds. The usual average length of snakes in Florida is about 6 to 9 feet long.
